The activity or system of conveying liquids or gases from one point to another for them to be used in other forms is called plumbing. Moving the fluids is a process which is facilitated or enhanced through the use of valves, pipes, tanks and plumbing fixtures. Plumbing is very crucial because it is applied in heating and cooling systems in production plants, in waste removal and the potable water. A plumber is, therefore, an individual who specializes in the installation and maintenance of the plumbing systems. The work of ensuring that the traveling fluids reach to the customers in the right condition is therefore assigned to the plumber. Here are the tasks perpetuated by the plumbers in their daily activities.
The roles of the plumbers are countless when a plumbing system is instituted to move the fluids from one place to another. Firstly, a plumber is involved in assembling the pipes, tubing and fittings during the installation or maintenance processes. Plumbers are endowed with skills that help them to convene the pipes with the fittings with ease. They assemble the pipes, tubes, and fittings using bolts or cement or screws or even using the plastics depending on the specific issue at hand. Once assembling is done, leakages can be detected by filling the system with the liquids or gases. Appropriate repairs are done on the found leaking pipes.
Plumbers study the building plans for houses for them to establish the materials to use for installation of the fluid systems. After analyzing the structure of the building, they can establish the pipe sequence to install. They also establish how to install the plumbing system alongside other connections in the building like the electrical wiring work. After meeting all the demands, they skillfully install the systems to serve the entire building pretty well.
For there to be instituted another plumbing system, plumbers use some tools to cut various materials to create new openings. At times you realize that plumbers can produce a different line from a major line by cutting the structures using hand or power tools. The plumbers’ work starts immediately they install the plumbing system because they are followed by repeated maintenance works. Some of these things that the plumbers do are; replacing or mending the broken pipes, removing the worn out washers and unclogging the blocked pipes.
Lastly, plumbers are not only concerned with physical work, but they are also involved in record keeping of assignments that help them to produce a detailed work report at the end. Also when going out for some large jobs, the plumbers can perform some calculations that assist n strategizing for these jobs. Also they help in the preparation of work estimates for these large jobs to organize their installation period.
